US Holocaust Memorial Museum
The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum opened in 1993 and today serves as a memorial, a site for research, and as an advocate for understanding the responsibilites of citizenship. The museum has two permanent exhibits: "The Holocaust," recommened for ages 11 and up, and "Remember the Children: Daniel's Story," designed to help children understand the Holocaust. There are also special exhibitions and exhibits in the Wexler Learning Center. Group of 21 or more can visit "The Holocaust" by scheduled visit, while smaller groups can visit through general public hours (passes are required).
